      Itinerary

Do a practice run then Tubbs Hill and McEuen Park

After gearing up with your safety equipment, you will receive a one-on-one orientation from your professional guide on how to operate your Segway. Once you?re comfortable gliding around on two wheels, you?ll be turned loose for practice on a short obstacle course for about 10 minutes (pictured). From there, it?s time to head out into the nearby neighborhood to make your way to the lakefront for a look at the magnificent 100-year-old homes along the water. Listen to your guide through your wireless narration system as you cruise around the base of Tubbs Hill and into McEuen Park.

Start sampling with fresh and seasonal bites

As we head back into town for your first bite of the day, we will visit Seasons Restaurant. The sampling at this local’s staple will be a grilled cheese sandwich like nothing you ever had as a kid. This adult grilled cheese has five blended cheeses on a unique bread with a marinara dipping sauce. We will also sample some yummy pork belly bites. From there, it?s time for fresh eats at Carambola Cafe. Chef Columba was trained at the California Culinary Academy, and she will amaze us with one of her Latin-inspired dishes. The dishes are flavorful and colorful, but always a surprise for us. Tour CDA founder Gary loves this place!

Cruise the Centennial Trail in search of some English Pub Food and Sweet Treats!

It’s time to digest an easy glide along the Centennial Trail. The next stop is Crown & Thistle for some top-notch Bangers and Mash. Owner Ben handcrafts over 80 varieties of his unique Bangers and tops them off with his buttery mashed potatoes. We call them crack potatoes, the best we have ever had! Sweet tooths can get excited about the next stop, where you?ll get to try fresh handmade French cookies called macarons. These colorful delights take three days to make, and they are mouth watery and yummy. We will also sample a super chocolate brownie. This bakery was voted the best in all of Idaho in 2021

Toast to a good glide over ciders

Ride out your sugar high on a breezy route back through McEuen Park for a stop at the beautiful Coeur d?Alene Resort. The final tasting is a short ride away for ciders or beer. For those sipping on cider, expect a flight; if you?re more interested in a brew, choose one on tap and kick back, full and happy from your CDA food and Segway tour. It’s a short ride back to the starting point, where your tour concludes.

      frequently asked questions

I have never been on a segway, can i take this tour?
Absolutely! Our friendly staff will get you all set up with the necessary safety equipment, followed by a safety briefing. From there, you will do a one-on-one training with our staff and a quick practice run on a training course to get comfortable using the Segway. Believe us, you’ll be zipping around and having fun in no time!
What are some suprising food facts people don't know about coeur d'alene?
From cheap, unique eats to fancy restaurants with a view, Coeur d’Alene does not have a shortage of dining options. You can get a steak cooked to perfection in a no- frills building that was once a convenience store in 1938, or a high-end meal with a beautiful lake view at Beverly’s in the Coeur d’Alene resort.
Does this Segway tour include hills?
No, we will remain on flat, mostly paved paths (including Centennial Trail) for the entire 2-hour ride with breaks to rest along the way.
How hard is it to ride a Segway?
Segways are safe and easy to use, with the mechanics built in that keep you upright and balanced. If you can stand on your own two feet without falling over, you’ll be just fine on one of our Segways!
What do I wear on a Segway Tour?
You can wear what is comfortable to you depending on the season. We recommend sneakers, hats, sunglasses, and sunscreen. One thing you can’t wear: open-toed shoes. No sandals or heels, please!
Can you accomodate for dietary restrictions?
No, this is a set menu. Unfortunately we cannot accommodate gluten-free, dairy-free, or vegetarian diets on this tour. Please advise us of any food allergies you might have.
What Landmarks will I see on this Tour?
The Centennial Trail, CDA Resort, Fort Sherman, the Marina boardwalk, the historic carousel, and a variety of local restaurants and pubs in the downtown area.
Why should I take this Segway Tour?
This is a safe, scenic route on paved areas, away from crowds and congestion. You get to hear interesting history and stories that go back to our beginnings, starting with the fur trade business with the local Coeur d’Alene tribe; and how, in 1883, the gold rush caused a massive influx of people and established Coeur d’Alene as a city in 1888. We love taking guests to visit some of the relic military buildings at Fort Sherman, as well as all the beautifully restored 100-year-old homes along the waterfront.
      What is your Cancellation policy?
We accept cancellations up to 24 hours before your guided tour with a full refund.
Do I get a refund for bad weather?
We have a saying here in Idaho, wait 15 minutes and the weather will change! However, if it is unsafe to ride due to weather conditions, we will cancel the tour and provide you a full refund. If there is some light drizzle, we provide rain ponchos to keep you dry.
Do the food samples ever change on this tour?
Food items on the tour can change. Tour CDA wants to ensure that you have the best time possible, and if our restaurant friends can’t easily accommodate a group for that day, we will go somewhere just as tasty.
Other options besides touring on a segway?
Yes! We can offer you a sit-down 3-wheel mobility scooter, or a stand-up 3-wheel transporter that does not require any balancing skills. Call us for details.
